VORG #38 jan-feb-mar-apr 2003Manhattan Revisited The Audio Publishers' Association will hold it’s Fourth Annual
Job Market in New York City on February 20th, 2003, at the Central Park
Hotel across the street from Carnegie Hall. Publishers really do hire
voice talent from this event. Max Bloomquist, Brilliance Audio, recently
said, “I find it valuable. I’ve hired at least 6 actors
from the 2002 Job Market. I hope that number will expand. It’s
worth it to me to go and find the talent I’m looking for.”
According to Beth Baxter, the mastermind behind the APA Job Market,
this event is offered “as a service to large and small publishers
and to the growing pool of talent interested in becoming more involved
with Audiobooks.” Publishers in attendance range from the “biggies”
such as Random House and Brilliance Audio, (with their plethora of audiobook
imprints), to the independent but highly productive and prestigious
houses such as Live Oak Media and Blackstone Audio. |
